Performing Arts Day Camp Kiba Koen

Camp Roadless Summer offers

Weekend Performing Arts Camp for ages 4-10

Our Weekend Performing Arts Camp combines games, singing, drawing and chants to teach young children about English and to allow them to have an international experience.

Our program is perfect for native and non-native speakers. Through a combination of Total Physical Response, repetition and songs children are capable of picking up key phrases and listening to English.

Visual and Performing Arts Programs

Games

Campers will play traditional American games that use language and body movements. For example, we play Captain, May I? This game teaches children how to use the phrase ‘May I…?’ in different ways. Some weeks we may say, ‘May I have jump five times?’ Some weeks we can try, ‘May I take 5 steps forward?’ By using a regular phrase we are giving the children confidence and showing them different ways they can use the English language.

Drama

Do you want to be a tarento?  Get ready for your close up in our drama program! We use pantomime, mime, and body movements to help children learn new phrases and have fun speaking English.

 Chorus

Are you a karaoke star? Well, hone your vocal skills in our chorus group! Children will learn songs that help with retention of content knowledge and key phrases.

 Drawing

Claude Monet had to start somewhere! Young artists will create drawings that support the target language. Children will write short sentences and read what they wrote.
